Yesterday, December 6th was
St. Nick's Day. It is a holiday celebrated by the Okrzesik family and one that I've grown fond of. Mr. and Mrs. O always give us candy and cute little presents like the kind you might find in your stocking only they aren't limited in physical size by a stocking. This year Colin was included in the fun of course and got his own bag of goodies including a stocking that is personalized for his first Christmas and a Sweet Pea baby's first Christmas ornament (thanks for all of the great gifts Diane!). We decorated the house for Christmas this weekend so it was like a mini-Christmas morning here today with gift opening, a fire in our new gas fireplace, and blueberry pancakes. The morning was even kicked off at a Christmas-morning type of time as Colin decided to start his day at 6:30 AM. We didn't mind (too much) though because it gave us plenty of time for the festivities.
We bought a live Christmas tree yesterday and Colin seemed to enjoy the experience of picking it out at the nursery. We carried him through the trees all bundled up and he looked at everything and everyone with curiosity. He didn't seem to mind the 30 degree weather one bit...the only time he fussed was when we tried to pull his hat down more snugly over his ears. Here are some pictures from our festive weekend to kick off the Christmas season.
