Keith is working today but it will hopefully be a short day for him. So far he's come home early every day this week and taken long lunches since it's such a quiet week at work.
On the weekend of December 12th, Keith's parents were nice enough to drive up here for the weekend to do some babysitting for us. That Friday evening was our neighborhood Christmas party and since I'm still the social chair of the association, I had a pretty big hand in the planning so I didn't want to miss it! It was a lot of fun - there was a really good turnout and the food from the catering was very tasty. The home where it was hosted looked great and judging by all the alcohol that was consumed, I think everyone had a really good time! That Saturday afternoon Colin's grandparents watched him while Keith and I ventured to the mall for some Christmas shopping. We were able to get a lot done and enjoyed some "parent" time without baby! We had a fun weekend with Keith's folks, including doing a Christmas "photo shoot" for our cards.
Last weekend the Okrzesiks gathered in Naperville, IL, to celebrate Christmas but we didn't make it. We thought that it would be a little too hectic to make the normally 6 hour drive (without a baby) on a Friday and then turn around and come home again on Sunday. It was probably for the best too since Colin was going through a growth spurt last weekend and not sleeping so well! We really missed being there though and especially missed seeing Keith's cousin and sister who are both expecting in May! We had a pretty quiet weekend at home, venturing out in the snow to go to Trader Joe's for some supplies for our Christmas dinner and baking some sugar cookies.
Keith's parents are coming back to Dublin tomorrow and staying with us for Christmas. We are all so excited for Colin's first Christmas! The Masons are celebrating Christmas over New Year's weekend so they'll all be up here next weekend.
On a different note, we seemed to have turned a corner with Colin's sleeping and napping. He slept 12 hours straight last night and we had to wake him up at 7:15 this morning! And he has taken naps in his crib yesterday and today (albeit short "Colin" naps of only 45 minutes or less) so we are happy about this progress!

Sounds like you're having a lot of fun with Colin for his first Christmas! Wish you were in Naperville right now, so we could get together.
