We had a hot dog party the weekend before last! This was something that Colin decided he wanted to have back in January. He got the idea from the Mo Willems books about the Pigeon and Duckling. If you know these books then you know what a tenacious character Pigeon is. In several books he talks about wanting to have a hot dog party. Well no one loves hot dogs more than Colin so he decided he wanted to have one too!
He and Keith pretty much planned the whole party. They made Save the Date invitations, planned the menu, shopped for the food, made a sign, made a printed menu (which included hot dogs, veggie dogs, mac & cheese made with Thomas the Train pasta, veggie tray, chips, fruit tray and hot dog cake) and made a welcome sign. We invited my side of the family and had a great time! I highly recommend a Hot Dog Party for your next get-together :)

Oh, that is hysterical! What a great party idea, Colin! Looks like you all did a great job.
ReplyDeleteWe've seen Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus read/enacted twice now by a theater group (at kid events), but we don't own any of those books--we'll have to check them out! A good reason for us to go to the library.
Oh my goodness! This is just too much! I love it! What a great idea, Colin!
