Colin's biggest achievement of late is his growing vocabulary. He picks up new words daily it seems. He even knows a couple of phrases like "truck book" which is his favorite book. I don't know. Maybe "truck book" doesn't really qualify as a phrase. He is good at pointing out a lot of his body parts and other people's body parts too. We've been working on the difference between his nose and someone else's nose. Sometimes those things get confusing! He'll repeat pretty much any word we say to him and while it might not sound the same coming from him, he is definitely trying. He's getting a lot better at holding crayons and coloring on a page.
He voices his wants very forcefully these days. His favorite thing to do is go into the basement and we have to be careful not to even say the b-word or he'll immediately stop what he's doing and demand to go down there! His sense of humor is really developing and that is very fun to watch. He finds all sorts of things funny these days.
He dances and laughs and gives sweet hugs and kisses. He is our sweet, beautiful baby boy.
He has done well this first week with Abby. She is fun and extremely creative (she does awesome art projects) but not as neat as I'd like. I miss all of the little things that Krystal did for us without my ever asking her. I realize that maybe I took all of those things for granted. Ms. Krystal, I miss you! Come back soon! But Colin and Abby have a lot of fun together and neither of them mind if the house is messy or if the coffee maker isn't put away when I get home! :)
Having fun in his favorite place - our basement
Playing with a hula hoop in his new class at the Rec Center - Jump Bunch (which unfortunately he hasn't been to since Ms. Krystal got sick)
Getting his first haircut at Cookie Cutters in an OSU car from a Steelers fan
Showing that sense of humor....where are my pants?!
Colin and Abby
Hey Maggie, such cute pictures. I'm glad Colin and Abby are having fun together. And because Abby is so young, she probably just doesn't know what you want. I'm sure if you let her know how you like things, she'll work on it, right?
ReplyDeleteFunny about Colin and the word basement. There are several words that we can't say around Charlotte, including "berry." I once said in a warning tone, "Charlotte Berry!" and she popped up her head and said "be-ee," "be-ee," because she thought she'd get some berries. oops.
