Santa Baby!

There have been a couple of Santa-sitings around here this month! The first was a couple of Saturdays ago when our company had a Christmas party for the kids. It was really well done! We had a very nice time. A coworker warned us to get there early because it gets pretty crowded and that was great advice. We got there right at 9 AM when it started and got in line to see Santa pretty much right away. We only had to wait about 10 minutes and then it was our turn. Colin was not afraid but he wasn't too smiley about it either. He took it very seriously. See for yourself:

Notice the little fist that is ready to throw a punch if Santa makes one false move

Not a fantastic picture but hey, it was free! There were many other things to do at this party besides see Santa. They had face-painting, balloon animals, Christmas crafts, raffles, animals (rescued birds that were out of their cages and being held by their handlers), and a pancake breakfast complete with Chris Cakes, the pancake-flipping man. Colin liked the pancakes and sausage better than Santa, I'd say.

The second Santa-siting was last Friday at our neighborhood Christmas party. Only this time he was with Mrs. Claus! My sister was nice enough to come over and hang out while Colin slept so we could go two houses down and enjoy ourselves. Which we did. A little too much. We are out of practice and definitely felt it the next day!

This Santa is a lot more realistic.

And speaking of Santa Baby, we have this library book called Santa Baby and you are supposed to sing the words along to the tune of the song. The words of the book are totally different than the traditional song and are about a little baby's first Christmas. Today we were playing and had Christmas carols on. The traditional song came on and Colin noticed it, went over to his book shelf and picked up the Santa Baby book. I was amazed. Keith said that must mean we do a pretty good job singing along with the book if he could put the two together in his mind!

  1. Happy to hear about the many fun-filled Santa and holiday events! I'm impressed with Colin's ability to put the song and book together- Go Colin. Happy Holidays!
