Mason Family Christmas

My family celebrated our Christmas on Saturday. My parents were planning on coming up on Friday but they surprised us with a request to come on Thursday instead due to a threat of some inclement weather on Friday. We were thrilled to have them stay with us another night. We had a great time with them - Keith made us all a delicious Chinese dinner on Thursday night (New Year's Eve). Keith and I turned in at 10 PM on Thursday while my parents made it to 11 PM - they were enjoying the America's Funniest Home Videos marathon on TV (they don't have a TV at home!) If only Keith and I had known that Colin was going to sleep from 7 PM to 7:15 AM that night, we would have stayed up a bit later! We did enjoy some champagne and good company though.

Friday was a fun day - we made tons of cookies for the cookie exchange on Saturday at Mason Christmas. My Dad stayed in his pj's all day, something he said he's never done before! We watched OSU win the Rose Bowl, ordered pizza, and had a fire in the fireplace going most of the day. It was a very relaxing day.

Saturday was Christmas at my sister's house. We arrived around 11 with Colin and my brother and his girlfriend arrived shortly after that. We had a poker tournament for charity (my brother won), exchanged Christmas "nostalgia" gifts, ate a wonderful meal, and had fun hanging out together. Colin was a good little boy and enjoyed being passed around. We went back on Sunday morning for a breakfast before the Hoosiers took off for home. It was a really nice Christmas and a great way to cap off my maternity leave. More about back to work soon...
