Happy Birthday Keith!

Keith turned 33 yesterday (yes, the big and exciting milestone year of 33). We had a nice, relaxing weekend in chilly Dublin. Saturday we went out to dinner with Colin for the first time ever (I know, I know, we're incredibly slow)! We tried to go to Chili's at around 5:30 but there was already a 30 minute wait! What is this, Columbus in the middle of winter? Doesn't anyone have anything better to do? I guess not. So we headed across the street to El Vaquero which is a pretty good local Mexican restaurant chain around here. We got a big cozy table back in the corner with no wait! Score! Colin did excellent. He stayed happily in his carrier when we were eating and we held him on our laps when we weren't so he could look all around which he did with gusto. He did so well we even ordered dessert (Mexican fried ice cream -yum!)

Saturday night we had the "night from hell" as I like to call it. We tried swaddling Colin with both arms out. That combined with some bad gas led to the hellish night. He was up pretty much all night long! We finally got a four hour uninterrupted stretch from 3:30 until 7:30. Amazingly I didn't feel all that badly on Sunday which was good since this was actually Keith's birthday. We took it easy. We started the day off with a French toast breakfast and hung out reading the paper, drinking coffee (a huge pot) and of course playing with Colin. We had a pizza party at dinner time and then opened presents and ate cake. Colin loved the festivities although he interrupted them slightly with a huge poop that ran down his leg! We decided to do bathtime right then and there. Here are some pics from the night:

Colin painted this picture frame for Daddy! It was an art project purchased by Ms. Krystal just for Keith's birthday.

  2. Happy Birthday to Keith! I did a double-take with the little picture frame because I thought Colin (in real life) was actually peering out of the little head. Anyway...

I'd like to state for the record that Chili's is always packed, regardless of the hour. We used to take Charlotte to just about every restaurant in the beginning because she would sleep the entire time. It's a little trickier now. We have to plan it based on her feeding schedule so that we can keep her entertained by feeding her solids. It's worked out pretty well so far...
