Second Doctor's Visit

Well, we just got back from our second doctor's visit. Colin weighs 9 lbs, 1.6 oz!!! We are ecstatic. He is over 5 ounces above his birth weight and well over his weight at discharge from the hospital which was 8 lbs 4 oz. I guess that means he's getting plenty to eat...we must be a pretty good team. Dr. Jeff said that his weight "exceeded his expectations" so everyone was happy. Everything else looked good with him too at the visit and we don't have to go back until he is one month old. Last night we woke him up at about 2 AM because he'd been asleep for five hours straight without waking up to eat. We were worried about today's weigh-in. Well no more of that!! If he's tired and wants to sleep, we'll be the last ones to disturb his slumber. Sleep on Colin!

  1. Yay for Colin! It was a huge relief to us when we took Charlotte to her two week appointment and she had gained back all her birth weight and then some. And yay, now Colin can let you know when he's hungry. That's the best. Here's hoping Colin continues to sleep well!

  2. I agree - if he wants to sleep, let him!! Jimmy didn't sleep through the night until he was a year and a half old. He just came that way. I'm really hoping my next one's a sleeper! Congratulations again on beautiful Colin.

  3. YAY!!! Now you can live by "never wake a sleeping baby!" I also can't believe you are back down to your pre-pregnancy weight, and I hate to tell you, I'm in better shape now than I was before I was pregnant, and I still have shirts that don't fit. I'm going to wait until I'm done weaning Lindsey, and then I guess I will know for sure if those shirts are out for good. Things are DEFINITELY redistributed! :) Sounds like you and Keith are doing a fantastic job!!!
