Well Sweet Pea has certainly found his legs! For several weeks we were really trying to feel the slightest movement in my belly. Sometimes I would feel little flutters and if I was lucky, a little push up against my hand. Then all of a sudden about a week and a half ago, Sweet Pea seems to have had a growth spurt and bought a pair of basketball shoes because now he is kicking me all of the time.
The biggest difference is that now I can feel his movement from the inside, not just the outside. It feels like my stomach is lurching and is a little unusual at first but I am getting used to it. His kicks are even so big that we can visibly see my stomach moving. Last night as I was lying down on the couch watching American Idol, I noticed that I had a big lump sticking up on the right side of my belly button. I felt the lump and it felt very hard. I couldn't help but laugh and call Keith over to check it out...we're not sure if it was Sweet Pea's head or backside but we enjoyed guessing. I can also feel when Sweet Pea is shifting around in there. It feels like a little bit of pressure and if I feel the spot that has the pressure, it feels very hard.
I am astounded by how quickly these changes came on. It seemed to go from next to nothing to Lord of the Dance overnight! I am even starting to learn Sweet Pea's schedule (very active around 10:30 AM and 3:30 PM). He isn't keeping me up at night yet which is good!
Luckily Minnie doesn't seem to be too bothered by the kicking. She still thinks my belly makes a nice pillow for her.

I love these pictures of Minnie resting her head on your belly. SO cute. Marzipan has been using my belly as a shelf, and Charlotte will kick hard to get her to move, but Marzipan is pretty much unfazed. It really is a trip when you can feel the baby squirming around inside you. I still wish I could figure out what body parts I'm feeling - I have a pretty good idea as she's been head down forever...
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are so cute!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comment. I was concerned about keeping the picture wall budget friendly too. I visited IKEA and then used the Michael's online coupon (that I happened to "find" more than once) and bought them over a few days. I think I probably spent no more than $7 for a frame. One thing I also did was find simple frames for cheap and then spray painted them.
How exciting. . .I still can't believe little Mag is pregnant sometimes. . .I am most fond of your blog. . Cute pics. . .American Idol indeed. . .See you soon. .
