Speaking of learning and class, now that Colin is one Krystal has started to create little monthly curriculums for him. October is the first month. This month his themes are orange, leaves, fall, and Halloween. One day he might just wear an orange shirt. Another day might be finger painting with the color orange or coloring with an orange crayon. There are art projects like making a trick-or-treat bag, doing leaf rubbings and making a yarn spider web. There is a field trip to a near-by pumpkin patch planned. She has made a calendar for our fridge with each day's activities planned out. We're very excited about this new development! Today was orange shirt day:

Whirlygigger
Colin is enrolled in an 8-week class at the Dublin Rec Center called Whirlygig. He goes once a week on Tuesday mornings with Ms. Krystal for 45 minutes. The class is for ages 1-2. They play musical instruments like bells, sticks, shakers, and drums. They sings songs and dance and basically just have a good time. They both really enjoy the class. There are only 12 kids so it is small and focused. Krystal says the teacher is really good - she remembers everyone's names, plays the guitar, and understands that a bunch of 1-2 year olds are not going to sit still for 45 minutes. Wandering around is encouraged! Here are some pictures of our little Whirlygigger:

Sounds like a really fun class. And I like that Krystal is incorporating some new things for Colin to do. Love the pumpkin shirt!
ReplyDeleteYou're very fortunate to have such a wonderful nanny! It sounds like Colin is having a lot of fun and learning a lot.
