We had a fun and eventful weekend with lots of firsts! We babysat for my nephews on Saturday evening while my sister and brother-in-law enjoyed a date night. We got pizza and Colin ate his first ham. Woo! He liked it. Jack says that pizza and ice cream are Colin's favorite foods...I think he is right! We took the boys for ice cream after dinner and enjoyed our treats in the drizzle. It was a fun evening. Colin also tried cow's milk for the first time on Saturday. He wasn't interested in drinking it from his cup (he made terrible faces) but seemed to do OK drinking it from a bottle so I guess we're back to bottles for awhile now.
On Sunday we went to the zoo. Keith and I saw the new polar bear exhibit for the first time (Colin had seen it already). It was a little hot but we enjoyed ourselves. We tried the petting zoo but Colin wasn't all that interested in petting the goats. My favorite was the koala bears. When we got home Colin had his first haircut! I bought a $10 pair of haircutting scissors and took it upon myself to give him a trim. He only really needed it around his ears and in the back at his neck. He was looking a little shaggy. Now he looks very clean cut! I didn't do a great job but it's not horrible either. Keith attempted to distract him and keep him still by feeding him snacks. No major mishaps occurred!
Keith gives my work a thorough inspection
It passed! Looking good Colin!
But most exciting, Colin has mastered walking with his push toy from Uncle Jeff and Auntie Erica. And it's not like he sort of had the hang of it before. He went from not being able to take a single step with it in the morning to going full speed ahead with it by himself in the evening. We really have no idea how he mastered it so quickly but we are very proud of him. All he wants to do is push that thing around now with a very proud look on his face!
What a champ! Go Colin!!
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo!!! Let the fun begin... HA! Way to go Colin! :)
ReplyDeleteHow cute, both the haircut and the new walking skills! Yay for Colin!
ReplyDeleteWoo to the hoo! He looks just like Charlotte did when she started using the walker. Not pushing it straight, bumping in to everything. It's so much fun. :) Very, very cute.
