We gave up bottles a few weeks ago in place of the same big sippy cup (with straws) that Colin uses. They learned how to drink from straws much earlier than Colin so we decided not to mess with cups without straws. They took the transition very well! Now they just get milk at mealtimes (whole milk). They both love their forks and Caroline is especially adept at stabbing food with hers and getting it into her mouth although lately Julia can too. They are good eaters most of the time. We eat outside on the deck as often as weather permits so that if they decide to throw any on the ground, clean-up is a lot easier!
They can say a handful of words: uh-oh, Mama, Dada, duh (for duck), boo (for book), ma (more and also milk), hi, bye-bye. They both pull up their shirts and grab their belly buttons when you ask them to show their "bee-bos" although Julia does it with more gusto. That's about the only body part they know though. Everything else they point to my nose. :)
They point, wave, and blow kisses. They are both quite helpful. Julia is especially so. She loves to put things away, fetch things, and help clean up. She likes to please and we are happy to let her!
They are still taking a morning and afternoon nap although the afternoon nap is resisted a lot so Keith is starting to think about consolidating to a mid-day nap.
Overall, they are very happy, well-behaved and loving little girls. We just love them to pieces and can't believe how lucky we are to have them!
They had a great 15-month check-up today.
