Gobble Gobble!

We had a terrific Thanksgiving this year. We REALLY needed the break too. We have been working crazy hours at work (including weekends) trying to make our implementation on time in February. So it was so nice to have 5 days off in a row. We headed down to Indiana on Wednesday morning and went straight to Keith's parents. It was a full house there this year! Heather, Todd, Olivia, Jeff, Erica, and Macy all came in from Chicago too. It was so fun to have all the grandkids together in the same house for a couple of days. We did our usual Fast Freddie's Festive Foot Race on Thanksgiving morning although this year we had no runners, only walkers. Thanksgiving dinner was abundant and delicious. I even had some turkey for the first time in 6+ years since my doctor expressed a little concern about my vegetarian diet.

Friday morning the Okrzesik women headed out for some Black Friday deals at 6 AM. It actually wasn't too bad out and we had a good time. I think all the craziness was over by then and we had no trouble with lines or parking. Sweet! I got some good deals - the best of which was two matching duck costumes for the twins' first Halloween next year for $3.58 total at The Children's Place!

We did our annual meet-up with Keith's friends on Friday afternoon. It is neat as more and more children get added to the mix. It's really cool to see them play and interact.

Friday night we headed to my parent's house. On Thursday afternoon Colin developed a fever but it didn't reappear until Friday evening. Luckily it didn't seem to get his spirits down. But he woke up at 5 AM on Saturday morning from his fever. We were all pretty exhausted from getting up with him. We laid him down for a nap at 9:45 AM because he seemed so tired and thank goodness he slept for 3.5 hours! We all took naps too! After his marathon nap he seemed a lot better and he was geared up for more visitors. Uncle Bub, Aunt Jenny, Papaw and Kay came to Mom and Dad's for a post-Thanksgiving get together. It was great to see everyone! Sunday morning we were back on the road. Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  1. I can't wait to see those cute little ducks next Halloween!!! :) I'm surprised about the concern with you being vegetarian... was your doctor concerned when you were pregnant with Colin? Is it just because it is twins? I wish you the best as you figure out your "new" diet!! Hugs!
