Two Year Stats

Colin had his two-year check-up yesterday with his pediatrician. No shots this time but he did get the flu MIST vaccine. I guess at two years old they can start taking the mist which is an actual live virus. He did great with it! He didn't fight or cry - I'm sure he much preferred it to a shot.

And our little guy who has been in the 10-25th % for weight for the past four check-ups has shot up to be in the 50-75 % now!

Weight: 28 lbs, 11 oz (a 6 pound gain since 18 months)
Height: 37.5 inches (a 2 inch gain since 18 months keeping him off the charts for height)

He certainly seemed a lot bigger to me than he did at 18 months and now I know why. But more than just height and weight he really is turning from a baby into a little boy right before our eyes.

He says long sentences now like, "Colin go upstairs and play with Minnie." And yesterday he was even starting to tell stories by saying "One time, Colin did this or that." He always refers to himself in the third person. It is funny, I wonder how long that lasts?

He does have a skin condition called kertosis pilaris which is when an excess of the protein in the skin called keratin plugs the hair follicles. It doesn't itch or bother him but it isn't the prettiest. It causes a rash of bumps on the backs of his arms and calves and it doesn't really have a cure. Oh well, if that is the worst thing wrong with him we consider ourselves pretty darn lucky!

  1. Wow - Colin is really tall! We have a little growth chart in Charlotte's room, and she's only maybe 35.5 inches.

It's just so fun to hear them talking. I love it!

    Glad he's doing well.
