Happy Birthday Sweet Boy!

Happy birthday to my sweet baby boy who is not a baby anymore. I have enjoyed reflecting back on his actual birth day today. What an incredible day in our lives it was! Our lives have forever changed and I just can't imagine it any other way. Colin brings so much joy and happiness to us...it's like he is a piece that we never even knew was missing but has made our family complete. At two years old the biggest change with Colin is how much he TALKS! He can pronounce hard words now like bulldozer (although he still says bull-doh-doh for fun) and Olivia (although he still likes to call her Lo-Lo). And he strings together thoughts and short sentences and even sings (Puff the Magic Dragon and Happy Birthday are a couple of favorites).
We had a whole celebratory birthday weekend. I love that he was born on Labor Day so that we can always have a 3-day weekend to celebrate his birthday. Heather, Todd, Olivia, Grandma, and Grandpa all came in on Friday. Colin's party was on Sunday. On Saturday we went to the park, played in the baby pool in our backyard (it was 95) and went to our neighborhood block party. Colin was king of bounce houses there! Here is a picture of him coming down the inflatable slide with Robbie across the street (a third-grader who adores Colin).

On Sunday we spent the morning eating French Toast, playing, and getting ready for the party. Both sides of the family came plus our next-door neighbors (Colin's best pal Rachel and her parents). My 97 year old Papaw and his wife even made it up for the celebration (their first trip to our house here in Dublin)! It was a great party although it rained and we had to squeeze everyone inside. The rain did let up at the end though and the kids ventured outside.

Olivia helps Colin with his party hat.

Of course the theme of the party was Thomas and almost all his gifts were Thomas related in some way!

Daddy holds up Colin blow while he blows out the two candles on his Thomas cake.

Colin stops to give Eli a smooch while everyone is playing outside

Rachel pushes Colin on his new trike from Grandma and Grandpa which can be steered from the handle in the back!

Happy Birthday my little two-year-old! My you sure do grow up fast!
It was a very successful and fun party and Colin really enjoyed it. He really loved it when everyone sang to him and of course he loved all the Thomas decor and gifts. We are so happy that all of our family could travel in for it and be together to celebrate our special little guy. Colin we love you! Happy, happy birthday!
