What a Mother's Day!

Wow, what a Mother's Day! Our niece Olivia Mercedes was born at 2:17 AM, weighing 6 lbs, 11 oz and measuring in at 20 inches long. A Mother's Day baby, true to her due date. We got the news first thing this morning from a very excited Grandma and Grandpa O. Mother and baby are both doing fine after only a nine hour labor for a first-time Mom...wow! We can't wait to meet her!

The day just continued to be great from there. I got some Bath and Body Works lotions from Keith (that I asked for) and opened up a couple of cards and a gift from my Mom. After Colin got up from his nap, Keith asked if I was ready to open my gift from Colin. It turned out to be a clue which led me to other clues placed all around the house. They had me going to the basement, to the second floor, to the first floor, and all around - a real work out. The first present I found was from Colin hidden in his bathtub. It was a wooden heart that he had painted. In the middle was a our picture. Keith had drilled a little hole in it and Ms. Krystal had threaded a pretty pink ribbon through it. I love it and will hang it at my desk at work. The hunt didn't stop there though! It led me to the basement again where I found a new digital SLR camera that I had been wanting (we both had)! We had been talking about buying one and even went looking last weekend but I had no idea Keith had purchased one. We had a lot of fun today trying it out and trying to learn the very basics.

We also went to a Mother's Day brunch at a restuarant right near our house. Keith had made a reservation several weeks ago. It was very nice and we enjoyed ourselves.

And last but not least, Colin's first tooth appeared today! I saw it while I was feeding him and sure enough, it's a tooth all right - lower, left middle. The matching tooth on the right looks very close behind. That could explain Colin's four wake ups last night! It was a wonderful and memorable day!

My two best boys made it a very special day for me

Happy Mother's Day everyone!

  1. What a great Mother's Day, Maggie! I'm so jealous that you got a DSLR. I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun taking pictures of your cutie.

And hurray for that first tooth. It just seems like teething never ends.

As for your question about introducing puffs. I say go for it. They dissolve in the mouth so there is no concerns for choking. Charlotte loves them (obviously!), and they keep her so entertained, particularly at restaurants. Colin is crawling with his stomach off the ground, so I'm sure he's ready.
