At 11 weeks, Colin has gotten into a really good routine and even a schedule lately. It's sort of like Groundhog Day according to Keith because every day is so similar but I like the predictability of it.
He gets up about 7:30 every morning, give or take 30 minutes. He eats around 8 AM, then takes two morning naps before his next feeding at 11:30 or noon. Each of these naps are between 45 minutes and an hour. In between those naps I get him dressed, brush his hair, wash his face, take vitamins and play for a little while before he's ready for his second morning nap. After his lunch, he is usually ready for his afternoon nap by about 1:30 or so. This nap is also about 45 minutes to an hour. Then it's close to the time for his next feeding of the day which happens between 2:30 and 3 PM. After that we play for awhile and usually go for a nice long walk around 4 PM if the weather is nice. If I'm lucky, he'll sleep in the stroller for 20 minutes or so. Then it's about time for Keith to get home! I've usually done dinner preparations beforehand and we eat dinner by about 5:30. We start Colin's bedtime routine in between 5:45 and 6 and that includes a bath every other night. He usually starts his final meal of the day at 6:15 and is down to sleep by 6:45 or 7. Sometimes he wakes up and needs to be rocked back to sleep once or twice but is usually down for the count by 7:30. This gives Keith and I a nice couple of hours at least of downtime before we go to bed which is really fantastic.
Colin usually wakes up once to eat between 2:30 and 3:30 AM and then we start it all over again! This feeding usually lasts less than 15 minutes and I'm back to bed in 20 so it's really not bad. He's at five feedings a day, down from something crazy like twelve when we brought him home from the hospital.
Life is good! We'll see how easily we can maintain our routine this week when we take our first road trip to Indiana for Thanksgiving. Hopefully Colin can be a little flexible for us!

I think babies crave routine. Get them off that routine and you're facing a fussy baby! Case in point - taking Charlotte to a housewarming last night and not getting her to bed until 9:30... I think it's great that you're only feeding Colin about 5 times a day. On the weekends, I feel like I'm feeding Charlotte every two to three hours during her waking hours. But she's getting so big she needs those extra calories so she can sleep most of the night. Good luck on your first road trip, and Happy Thanksgiving!
