Little boy! We had our 20 week ultrasound yesterday (even though I was only 19 weeks and 2 days) and found out that Sweet Pea is in fact a little boy. He had fooled almost everyone into thinking he was a girl. I think he is probably pretty proud of himself. Dr. Kelley started the ultrasound at the top of his head, SLOWLY and thoroughly checking everything from his brain, to his face (checking for a cleft lip), to his heart, to his stomach, bladder, and kidneys before finally making his way down to the organs we were particularly interested in seeing. Of course we were thrilled to hear that all of those other organs looked healthy, normal, and right on track! At that point he asked us, "What do you suppose that is?" And it was pretty obvious to us all that Baby O is a boy! Dr. Kelley said he is 99.9% sure but only because he never says 100%. So now the wait is over and we can start imagining our new little boy and thinking of names for him! Here are some pictures from the ultrasound:

Waving to us!

Boy Parts! This is a birds-eye view looking down at his two little femurs that are opened up.
Call it third trimester insomnia, but who else would be awake at 6:30 on a Saturday! Anyway, congratulations!! A little O Baby Boy. How fun! I really had a feeling it would be a boy, not sure why, mostly because all my friends who are having or have had babies this year have had boys! Glad to hear everything looks great in the u/s - it's definitely a relief. And those are definitely boy parts, no doubt about it. :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the baby boy news!! Eric came up after I yelled the news and he asked if you'll be naming him Henry II. I asked why he would say Henry and reminded me of your kitty's name. Silly man. Although, Henry is a very cutie name.
