First Kicks

I keep reading that I should be able to feel the baby kicking by week 18 (or at least it's pretty likely that I could feel something). So the past couple of nights I've been really trying to feel something while watching TV in the evenings and relaxing on the couch.

In the past I have found it really hard to know for sure whether what I was feeling was just my own digestive system doing its thing or little Sweet Pea movements. But the night before last I felt something that was like a definite push up against my hand. I'm pretty positive digestion does not push up or out and so I think it was a Sweet Pea kick! I've only felt a few of these kicks that are strong enough to push up but the great thing is that last night Keith felt one too (after some failed attempts to feel slighter movements).

So now we've both felt Sweet Pea doing stretches and kicks. I am looking forward to feeling stronger ones!

  1. Yay for kicks. I don't think I really noticed the baby moving until after that formal ultrasound (almost 20 weeks) and it just felt like weird explosions in my stomach. But now she really packs a punch (like this very second!). Can't wait to see what your Sweet Pea is going to be! We tour the hospital tonight, so we're really excited since it's brand new and supposed to be a nice stay for all.
