Sweet and Sassy

Seven just seems a lot older than six, doesn't it?  I'm almost two months tardy on this post and maybe it is just in the past two months that I'm starting to really notice that these two are growing up.  They are a little less affectionate right now than they used to be (sigh) and a little bit sassier too (double sigh).  But luckily we still have a long way to go (I hope) before they are nothing but sassy and don't want to ever hug their Mama!

Here is what they're seventh year held for these two special little ladies.

First concert in June 2018 - Imagine Dragons

First day of First Grade

They love getting their toes and fingernails painted now.

This year they have started reading chapter books - Owl Diaries was their first favorite series

They both got their ears pierced although Caroline was a few months sooner than Julia.

They both wanted to be animals for Halloween.  Julia a bunny and Caroline a rainbow cat

They like taking selfies.

They like helping to bake and are actually a decent help most of the time.

They completed their Daisy scout year and will be moving on to Brownies.

They both lost both front teeth this year.
They played basketball again this winter and enjoyed it.

They are self-sufficient skiers now.

They decided they are into dolls all of a sudden and wanted American Girl (knock-off) dolls for their birthday.

It was definitely time for new bikes (birthday gifts).

Four special gals!

They wanted to host their first sleepover for their birthday.  We kept it to four girls total.  It was a success!

At the sleepover they wanted to do lots of crafts and watch a movie.  They were in bed by 11.

It was a big year for these two with lots of firsts.  Since they turned seven there have been more firsts too - Julia finally went off the diving board.  Both girls passed the swim test this summer so they can go down the water slide at the pool by themselves.  They rode some big roller coasters at Cedar Point and Caroline rode one that I wouldn't even ride!  As always, it is fun to experience their milestones with them and see them grow.  Speaking of growing, Julia is still a bit taller and bigger.  She is about 50 inches and Caroline is about 49 inches.  They are both on the taller side of their class.  They did great in the first grade in separate classes.  For the most part they still seemed to have common friends (because of recess I guess).  Happy birthday my sweet girls.  Don't grow up too fast on me please!
