Five Years Old...times Two.

Julia and Caroline celebrated their fifth birthday on Wednesday.  On Tuesday, they graduated from preschool!  All of these milestones in one week was a lot for this Mama!  And then their first friend birthday party on Thursday.  They are becoming big girls.

I read my blog post from their 4th birthday before writing this one.  Last year I talked about how Caroline still had trouble pronouncing her "r" sounds and that they had a lot of cute but incorrect phrases that they said.  Caroline now pronounces her r's correctly and those little cute sayings are becoming fewer and farther between.  Julia still says "scream time" instead of "screen time" and Caroline still says "comterful" instead of "comfortable."  They both call their Magna-tiles "Maglatines." 

They are both riding their bikes without training wheels now.  Julia mastered hers this spring while Caroline was last fall.  They played spring soccer and are both doing well at the sport.  They love school and got nothing but positive remarks from their teachers.  They both love drawing and arts and crafts.  Lately Caroline takes her time more than Julia but like many things they do, that kind of goes back and forth.  They're still into Shopkins (the theme of their birthday party).  They also like Care Bears, Beanie Boos, Lego Friends, and Mario.  Their handwriting has improved this year and they are able to read beginning readers.  They are so excited for Kindergarten in the fall (half day) and especially to ride the bus with big brother Colin.  They're looking forward to a fun summer of pool time, a couple of vacations and maybe a dance camp.  

They are sweet and affectionate girls and most of the time very helpful (especially Julia).  They get along and play together really well most of the time (they definitely have their moments) but I'm always in awe of how neat it must be to live with your best friend.  They almost always want to play the same thing which is so nice for them.  They are very close.

Their 5 year check-up isn't for a few weeks so here are their unofficial measurements:
