Back Home Again in Indiana

That's a song lyric for any of you non-Hoosiers out there. We took a quick trip to Indiana to visit family and friends last weekend. It was a very fun trip! We took Friday off from work and headed down first thing in the morning. We spent Friday night with Meme and Pop Pop. Colin had fun finding eggs in a little pre-Easter egg hunt on Friday. He quickly got the idea of what he was supposed to do and luckily Pop Pop made them pretty easy to find! The weather was gorgeous and warm. Perfect for hunting Easter eggs and a ride in the bucket swing! That afternoon we ventured into town to Butt Drugs (seriously, that is the last name of the family) to their old soda fountain. I tried a phosphate and Colin had some strawberry ice cream. Friday evening my brother and his fiance Jenny came over to visit us and brought pizza or as Colin says "pee-ah!" It was great to see them and hear all about the wedding plans for their wedding this December!

Found one, good job Colin!

Love this picture with the river in the background

Enjoying his ice cream at Butt's!

On Saturday we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa O's. Colin and Grandma made "pretend soup" from a cookbook we gave her about cooking with children. He enjoyed it a lot. Afterwards they had a tea party! He loved sitting at the little table and pouring tea. We went out to eat that evening and had some good Mexican food. Colin gobbled up his sope with carnitas!

Colin follows along with the pretend soup recipe which all have pictures

Tea time!

On Sunday we headed out after Colin's morning nap and stopped by to visit our friends Kevin and Kristen who live in Louisville. They just had a baby about a month ago so we got to meet him and see how they are doing. Colin enjoyed peeking at the baby and even touching him a few times. It was great to see them for a quick visit before heading up the road back home.

We love being able to take these trips! It's a great change of pace and scenery for all of us and of course we love seeing everyone. I am glad we live close enough to make them!

  3. There are so many cute pictures of Colin. I also agree with Stephanie's comment, I wish we had family close by, or even good friends now that we're especially far south. What a wonderful trip!
