10 Months!

Oh boy, Colin is 10 months old today! Getting him to sit still for his monthly photo with Teddy is nearly impossible. Here are some attempts:

Colin is doing great at 10 months. He is not cruising much yet but still crawling around at lightning speed. He can clap and give high-fives. He still only has two teeth but that doesn't stop him from eating lots of cool new foods like waffles, french toast, macaroni and cheese, and lots of fruits and veggies cut up into bite-sized pieces. He loves toast with cream cheese too! He has gotten very good at feeding himself. He can climb all the way up the staircase in hardly any time. He is learning the word "no" and he even follows it sometimes. To his dismay, there are suddenly lots of "nos" in his world. Keith and I are grappling with what to make off limits and what to let slide (is it OK to chew on a gluestick?) A whole new side of parenting has emerged this month!

Colin continues to sleep like a champ. He was put to the test this weekend when we took an extra day off and went to Indiana to visit family and friends over the holiday weekend. This was the first time he had slept outside of his crib since we did the sleep training so we were a little nervous. He did wonderfully! He did struggle a bit with his first nap in a strange place (a crib at my parents' house) but after that there were no problems. He slept through the night all three nights and did well with all naps except that first one! Woo hoo! We had a really great trip.
